Why write open when letters online?
Paper open when letters are lovely, and easy to open early. Online, a letter can be truly sealed. You choose when it opens: on a date, even a year away, or only after they answer a question that only they would know.
Each letter can carry more than words. Add a photo, a short video or a voice note, so on a hard day they can actually hear you. A one-time letter remembers the moment it was first opened, and says when afterwards.
They live inside your private gift website, behind a passcode, next to your story and your places.
Good letters are short and specific. Name the thing you love about them, remind them of a moment only the two of you share, and tell them what you would do if you were there. A photo of that moment says the rest.

- Fill in your story. Write each letter, finish the line "Open when..." and choose a date, a question, or both to seal it.
- Seal it and send it. Set a passcode only they would know, like a date that matters, then send the link.

No. A letter sealed until a date stays shut until then, and the words stay on our server until it opens.
Can I add photos or my voice?
Yes. Each letter can have a photo, a video or a voice note as well as the words.
Can I add more letters later?
Yes. Start with a few and add more whenever you like. The link stays the same.
Are open when letters only for long distance?
Not at all. They are a lovely gift for any couple, at home or apart.
